Connolly’s RED MILLS Announces New Partnership with Retraining of Racehorses for 2026 Eventing Season
Connolly’s RED MILLS is proud to announce a new partnership with Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) to support an exciting programme of eventing initiatives for the 2026 season, celebrating the success of former racehorses competing within British Eventing.
As part of this partnership, Connolly’s RED MILLS and its partner brands will support a series of opportunities across BEDE Events throughout the season, designed to recognise performance, encourage participation, and reward consistency for RoR-registered horses and riders. The highlight will be a brand new RoR Eventing Championship as the Aspen Cooling Osberton International Horse Trials (1).
Connolly’s RED MILLS RoR Eventing Championships
The inaugural Connolly’s RED MILLS RoR Eventing Championships will take place at Aspen Cooling Osberton International Horse Trials (1), 22–24 May 2026. Championship classes will be contested at BE90, BE100 and Novice levels, with winners at each level receiving a cash prize and championship rug. Prizes will also be awarded to second and third placed combinations in each class. To qualify, horse and rider combinations will need to achieve a minimum of two MERs at any standard British Eventing competition between 1st March 2025 and 26th April 2026.
Season-long League and Additional Awards
In addition to the championship, a new season-long league, supported by Foran Equine, will run across all BEDE Events during 2026. At each event, rosettes will be awarded to the highest placed RoR in every section, with overall league prizes presented at the end of the season.
Further recognition will take place at Aspen Cooling Osberton International (2), 1–4 October 2026, where prizes will be awarded to the highest placed RoR in the 80cm and 90cm arena eventing classes, supported by Carr & Day & Martin.
Supporting Second Careers for Racehorses
This new programme reflects a shared commitment between Connolly’s RED MILLS and RoR to supporting retired racehorses as they transition into successful second careers, while providing meaningful incentives for owners and riders competing within the sport.
