Gowran Park Set for another Thrilling RED MILLS Day
This Saturday, Gowran Park will host the eagerly anticipated RED MILLS Day, featuring the Grade 3 RED MILLS Hurdle and the Grade 2 RED MILLS Chase. With a stellar lineup of entries, both races promise to deliver high quality action.
RED MILLS Hurdle: A Wide-Open Contest
The RED MILLS Hurdle (13:55pm), a Grade 3 event, has attracted some interesting entries, with local trainer Willie Mullins once again leading the charge. Among his strong possible contingent are Kawaboomga, Kel Histoire, Soir De Garde, and Storm Heart . Willie Mullins’ runners have a fantastic record at on RED MILLS day, and he will be hoping to add another RED MILLS Hurdle to his list of achievements this weekend.
However, it won’t be an easy task, with formidable opponents like Eagles Reign from the Ross O’Sullivan yard. Ross is fresh from success in the RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Series Novice Hurdle at Naas on Saturday with Raise You Up. Former Grade 1 winner Farren Glory trained by Gordon Elliott, and Lisnagar Fortune trained by John McConnell are also in the mix. Glen Kiln has been in fantastic form this season and would be a very popular runner for the Bowe family and trainer Harry Kelly. Parnell Street (A. Slattery), Henry de Bromhead’s Workahead and Gavin Cromwell’s Yeah Man will also be looking to make their mark and add further depth to the entries for the race.
RED MILLS Chase: Mullins Pair Could Return in Search of Repeat Glory
The RED MILLS Chase (15:05pm) features some of the most exciting chasers in training entered, including a couple of previous winners of the race. One of the standout entries is Classic Getaway, trained by Willie Mullins. A previous winner of the race, Classic Getaway will be looking to repeat his success and add another victory to his already impressive career.
Another Mullins-trained contender is the ever-popular Saint Sam who won this race in 2024 and could look for his second victory in this prestigious contest. The champion trainer could also field Blood Destiny, James Du Berlais or multiple Grade 1 winner Impaire Et Passe who hasn’t been seen since the Punchestown Festival last year.
Gordon Elliott’s Sa Fureur, Break My Soul (I.P. Donoghue) and Buddy One (P.J. Gilligan) add further intrigue to entries for a race that promises plenty of drama.
