Nicole Pavitt is the only person to have won the RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Champion title more than once. She has in fact won it 3 times before; in 2017 with HC Cornet, in 2014 with Tia Semilly and in 2012 aboard Our Duchess.

In 2019, she’s back again to contest the title, this time with 11 year old Warmblood Southend.

“Southend came to Matt Pike earlier this year having only hunted and done a bit of riding club. Drew, who was originally riding him, jumped all of his clears, I only got the ride by chance! We were on our way to Bicton when Drew got kicked the morning of the show. Matt rang, and asked if I would ride him. That day we won the Foxhunter 2nd round and later we were 2nd in the Newcomers – we just clicked!” said Nicole.

“It’s always nice to compete at HOYS, it’s particularly great for owners as they are able to see their horse compete at such a prestigious event. I absolutely love riding there and get the same rush of adrenaline every time I go through the curtain into the arena. There is absolutely no feeling like winning a class at HOYS, cantering down the middle, under the spot light, gives an unforgettable buzz!”

Best of luck to Nicole & all  Connolly’s RED MILLS 2019 Senior Newcomers Finalists
