Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Hurdle Series Connolly’s RED MILLS and the Irish European Breeders’ Fund have once again teamed up as co-sponsors of the Irish EBF NH Auction Hurdle Series. The series got underway at Ballinrobe in August and will run until April 2020.
The series will consist of 14 maiden and novice hurdle races from August 2019 to April 2020, each worth a minimum of €20,000, with a final in April worth €75,000. Entry into the final is limited to horses which have run in one of the previous races in the series. The conditions will specify that all horses must be by an EBF registered stallion and bought as an unraced three or four-year-old at a recognised National Hunt Store sale for €45,000 or less, with weight allowances depending on purchase price.
In addition, the ITBA have agreed to boost the series by including the €5,000 Weatherbys/ITBA NH Fillies Bonus Scheme for all races in the series.
Last spring Cousins Emmet and David Mullins combined with the exciting Zero Ten to win the Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Hurdle Series Final on Gold Cup day at the Punchestown festival.
Afterwards Emmet Mullins had this to say about the series: “We’re delighted and it’s a great pot for this series. It’s brilliant for the middle market at the sales and it’s going to create huge interest at the upcoming stores sales this year.”
RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Hurdle Series
- 14 maiden and novice hurdle races from August 2019 – April 2020
- Each race worth a minimum of €20,000
- Final worth €75k entry into final is limited to horses which have run in one series qualifiers
- Horse must be by an EBF Registered stallion
- Bought as an unraced 3/4yo at a recognised NH store sale for €45,000 or less
