Edwina Tops-Alexander

Edwina Tops-Alexander is an Olympic showjumper who competes for Australia. Married to former Dutch champion, Jan Tops, Edwina decided to move to Europe in 2006 to compete against the best riders in the world, using the Netherlands as her base for most of the year at Stal Tops Valkenswaard. In 2006, Edwina became the first rider in the history of Australia to qualify for the final of the World Championships in Aachen, where she finished a fantastic fourth.

She has had a number of Grand Prix wins, including Brussels, Valkenswaard, London, Zurich, Cannes, Geneva, Vigo and Doha, to name a few. In 2011 and 2012, she won the Global Champions Tour, which resulted in her being the highest-ranked female rider in the world rankings.

She was the first Australian to not only qualify for the final of the World Equestrian Games in 2006, but also win the semi-final, and while that would be impressive enough in itself, she proceeded to finish in 4th place.
