Biography
Yuri Mansur
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Yuri grew up with a deep connection to horses, which was fostered by his family’s involvement in equestrian activities. His passion for showjumping began at a young age, and he quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the sport.
Yuri’s early years were marked by rapid progress in the Brazilian equestrian circuit. By his teens, he was already competing at a high level, and his talent soon caught the attention of the broader international equestrian community. To further his career, Yuri moved to Europe, where he immersed himself in the competitive showjumping scene. His time in Europe was spent training with top professionals including working as a groom at Ludo Philippaerts’ yard and competing against some of the best riders in the world, which helped him refine his skills and gain valuable experience.
He returned to Brazil to become a horse trader in 2001, and in 2004 he began importing horses from Europe. In 2014, he set up a stable in Belgium, near Opglabbeek, where he trains horses. Over the years, Yuri has achieved several notable victories, including wins at major competitions like the Longines Global Champions Tour, the Nations Cup, and various FEI World Cup events.
