Now in its fourth year, the event provides an up-close experience of how these magnificent animals are raised, trained, and cared for. With more than 104 free events taking place at 90 venues across England, Scotland, and Wales, racing yards, studs, and aftercare centers are opening their doors to welcome over 13,000 visitors. More Than Just Open Days
National Racehorse Week isn’t just about open days. The 2024 edition will also feature over 50 community events, bringing racehorses out to visit schools, hospitals, and care homes. These outreach programs are expected to reach an additional 5,000 people, many of whom may have never had any experience with horses before. Research conducted by Great British Racing in 2022 revealed that a surprising number of young people in urban areas have never seen a horse in real life: 27% of 12-40 year olds and 50% of 18-24 year olds.
