Connolly’s RED MILLS & TREO EILE Launch “From Track to Three-Phase” Eventing Masterclass
Connolly’s RED MILLS, in partnership with TREO EILE, will host a live in person educational demonstration “From Track to Three-Phase Eventing Masterclass” at Goresbridge Horse Sales on Thursday 26th March
This live, ticketed demonstration will showcase the journey of the Thoroughbred from racehorse to event horse, offering attendees practical training insights , real exercises to take home and expert guidance from leading event riders Nicky Roncoroni and Sam Watson
Designed for riders, owners, trainers and racing connections, the event will showcase the versatility of the Thoroughbred and highlight how correct training, management and nutrition can support successful second careers in sport. This event will be perfect for anyone who will be taking advantage of the many exciting incentives and opportunities that are available this year for Thoroughbreds thanks to Eventing Ireland and Treo Eile.
Event Schedule
2:00pm – Connolly’s RED MILLS Mill Tour (Free) (Optional)
Attendees can begin the afternoon with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Connolly’s RED MILLS mill, offering a look at feed production, quality control and the science behind equine nutrition.
3:30pm – Refreshments & Networking
Guests will gather at Goresbridge Horse Sales for complimentary light refreshments before the masterclass begins in the indoor arena at Goresbridge Horse Sales. At 4pm the Masterclass will begin with live demonstrations from Nicky Roncoroni and Sam Watson.
4:00pm – Masterclass
Hosted by Joanne Quirke, the demonstration sessions will feature two top event riders showcasing Thoroughbreds at different stages of their careers.
- Nicky Roncoroni will demonstrate the early retraining and schooling of a novice Thoroughbred beginning its eventing journey.
- Sam Watson will showcase advanced training with Nominator, a former point-to-point horse now competing at 3* level.
Each session will walk the audience through warm-up structure, progressive training exercises and the adjustments required when producing Thoroughbreds for eventing.
Panel Discussion & Expert Advice
The evening concludes with a panel discussion featuring the riders alongside nutrition experts from Connolly’s RED MILLS, Foran Equine and representatives from TREO EILE.
Topics will include:
- Supporting Thoroughbreds through the transition from racing
- Feeding and conditioning for competition
- Practical rider advice for producing Thoroughbreds
Audience Q&A will be encouraged to ensure an interactive and informative session.
