Ireland is renowned for producing quality performance horses. The highlight of many peoples summer is seeing the best of the best on show at the Dublin Horse Show in August.

This summer we have been following the progress of MHS Morning Master produced by Gowran Hunt Horses as his journey to the RDS continues. MHS Morning Master (ISH) is a gelding by Quidam Junior I (KWPN) out of MHS Cavaliers Daughter (ISH) by Cavalier Royale. This gelding is bred and owned by Sinead Brennan and exhibited by Brian Murphy of Gowran Hunt Horses.

MHS Morning Master joined Gowran Hunt Horses in April of this year. He soon began his preparation for inhand showing classes throughout Ireland. On only three outings MHS Morning Master has been extremely successful:

• Thomastown Show – Winner of the 3yo gelding class, Young Horse Champion and Qualifying for the Bannow & Rathangan 3yo All Ireland Final

• Adamstown Show – 3 year old Champion and overall young horse champion

• Bannow and Rathangan Show – Reserve Champion 3yo in The Irish Shows Association and Bannow & Rathangan Show Society Present The 3yo All Ireland Championship Final Part of the Horse Sport Ireland National Showing Championship Series

Nutrition plays a vital role in preparing youngstock for the showring and their future careers and will affect skeletal and muscle development, coat condition and temperament.

“MHS Morning Master has a wonderful temperament and is a straight forward horse to produce. When he came to us he already had the makings of a champion. We focused on developing his muscle and topline with regular exercise and a nutritional plan designed to support his workload and condition. We have been thrilled with how he has come on in the last few weeks and we’re looking forward to showing him at the Dublin Horse Show.”
