“Did I think it was possible for me to have one of the best horses there’s ever been? No, I cannot say that. I’ve had an unbelievable life thanks to Sanctos.” Scott Brash
RED MILLS Rider Scott Brash has announced he will be retiring Hello Sanctos at CHI Geneva on 14th December. Brash says he owes the most memorable moments of his career to Hello Sanctos, a horse that put Scott at the top of the game. The pair have achieved record success together, as Sanctos is the only horse to have won the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping. He claimed this title in 2015, having won the grand prix in Geneva, Aachen and Spruce Meadows.
The pair shot into the spotlight at the London 2012 Olympics where they took gold as part of the British team. They again joined the British team the following year, claiming team gold and individual bronze at the European Championships. 2013 and 2014 saw the pair land the Global Champions Tour Series Champion title. In the following years 2015-16, Brash was world number 1 for 11 months.
It was through Sanctos that Brash got to know Lord & Lady Harris and Lord & Lady Kirkham, who have been long term supporters and owners for Brash, as Sanctos was the first horse they bought for Scott.
“I’ve always loved working with horses, and I think you can never stop learning from them… I’ll never forget the reason I’m standing where I am today is because of them. These horses, especially Sanctos and Ursula, they’ve allowed me to keep doing what I absolutely love doing.”
