The 2026 Connolly’s RED MILLS OBP League is Back – Who Will Beat the Rest?

Eventing Ireland and Connolly’s RED MILLS are excited to announce that the 2026 Connolly’s RED MILLS Opposition Beaten Percentage (OBP) League is officially underway.

Returning for its sixth season, the OBP League celebrates the horses that consistently rise to the challenge and beat the odds – and the competition!

The OBP metric tracks the percentage of opponents a horse beats in all competitions where they start the cross-country phase, giving well-deserved recognition to the most consistent and competitive horses of the season.

Any horse with three or more cross-country starts during the 2026 Eventing Ireland season is automatically in the running to claim the title.

Niki Potterton, Chairman of Eventing Ireland, said:

“The OBP League is one of our most exciting initiatives, shining a spotlight on horses that consistently give their best. Together with Connolly’s RED MILLS, we’re celebrating the dedication, skill, and spirit that makes Irish eventing so special. We can’t wait to see which combinations will rise to the top this year!”

“We love seeing the incredible performances of horses and riders throughout the season. The OBP League is all about consistency, heart, and determination, and we’re proud to continue our partnership with Eventing Ireland to recognize these exceptional athletes.”

Fans and competitors can follow the action on the official OBP leaderboard, updated throughout the season. Stay tuned and cheer on your favorites as they chase the crown of Ireland’s most consistently competitive horse in 2026!

Eventing Ireland and RED MILLS were delighted to launch the league for Eventing Ireland members in 2021.

In the podcast below Diarm & Sam from EquiRatings introduce you to the OBP and just how and why it is calculated.

It is a simple number, but also a powerful one – how many combinations have you competed against, and how many have you finished ahead of? The OBP was designed by EquiRatings and is part of the Eventing Ireland Stats Centre available on the Eventing Ireland website.
